SERASI USAID Job Vacancy: Information Officer. SERASI is a USAID funded project that supports Indonesia’s continuing evolution into a peaceful, justice and democratic nation with respect for pluralism and protection of human rights for all citizens, accomplished through rapid and flexible programmatic, administrative and logistical support for USAID’s strategic grants and technical assistance program in the areas of democracy and governance, health, and education. In the coming year SERASI will significantly expand it focus in Eastern Indonesia and seeks qualified individuals to fill the following position:
INFORMATION OFFICER, Jakarta Based (Code: IO-JKT)
(Open for FULL TIME or PART TIME)
General Description of Role
The Information Officer is responsible for implementing SERASI’s outreach activities under the guidance of the COP/DCOP and in close coordination with program staff and USAID. This includes input to the development of program outreach materials, such as Success Stories, Activity Updates, and other printed/new media material, inputs to the SERASI website, managing email distribution lists for program outreach, and significant contributions to written reports, both for writing, and art/layout.
Job Responsibilities
1. Update program descriptions.
2. Assist in the production, layout, and distribution of program accomplishments and highlights, specifically Success Stories and Activity Updates.
3. Provide material input to the SERASI website and coordinate publication on website with ICT department.
4. Generate regular listing of SERASI program activities, and ensure it is posted and shared via established program channels and to the client.
5. Maintain digital photo library.
6. Provide assistance on SERASI’s effort to effectively communicate messages to promote conflict mitigation efforts and peacebuilding activities.
7. Coordinate project’s public event such as openings, press conferences, and forums and produce and draft appropriate press releases.
Required Qualifications
· A degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing in addition to a minimum of 7 years experience (for Bachelor’s) or 5 years (for Master’s) in managing and implementing communications programs.
· Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required
· Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
· Working relationship with various media in Jakarta and other regions of Indonesia.
